108 Military Central Hospital
Design
- Introduction
- Heerim, with the best hospital design experiences and know-how, won the 2010 International Design Competition for 108 Military Central Hospital design organized by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam. Located in Hanoi City, Vietnam, overlooking the Red River, the 108 Military Central Hospital is a nationally significant medical facility with a capacity of 2,000 beds, catering not only to military personnel but also civilians. Renowned as one of Vietnam's premier hospitals, it excels not only in scale and infrastructure but also in medical services. The architectural form of the building drew inspiration from the graceful contours of traditional Vietnamese boats navigating rivers and lakes, seamlessly integrating regional and cultural identity. The layout of the hospital strategically placed the internal medicine and surgery wings symmetrically on the front side, while the central treatment wing is located at the rear, facilitating organic connections between different hospital functions. The interior features an atrium with ample natural light, reminiscent of "Hospital Street," enhancing the overall comfort. Additionally, indoor gardens have been incorporated to provide patients with sufficient spaces for relaxation.
