- Introduction
- HCE (Hyundai Construction Equipment) Technology Innovation Center implemented intensive R&D facilities plan to enhance research capabilities and competitiveness while selecting its research complex site in Mabuk-dong, Yongin to enable highly educated researchers to work in the metropolitan area. The project site is located in the mountains, hence the key factor to consider was utilizing the gap between floor heights while securing optimal placement of an outdoor test site space and a large laboratory for heavy equipment experiments. Hyundai Construction Equipment carried out a design plan in consideration of frontality and symbolism to become a symbolic building as well as promoting publicity by separating research facilities from its Ulsan factory and locating it in the metropolitan area.
