Western Branch of Busan District Public Prosecutor's Office
Design
- Introduction
- Western branch of Busan district public prosecutor's office has been newly opened in the Myongji area, a free economic zone in Busan & Jinhae, to improve the public prosecution service for the citizens of SouthWest Busan. Heerim has been successfully executing projects of various legal affairs facilities. Based on the accumulated design know-how, Heerim tried to realize an open government office building that can reach the citizens more easily, at the same time maintaining the symbolism and identity as a prosecutor's office. The design motif - "Calmness and Tranquility" was intended to illuminate the original value of the prosecution, which is compared to a pure mind with no concern. The image of uniform windows and elevations are discarded through progressive grid-shaped wall compartments. At the same time, the energy loss of the building is reduced by saving the inflow of indoor solar energy. The lower part of the building is surrounded by a circular shape to express a comfortable image to the citizens. The exterior landscape space without a fence was created as an open park linked to the public open space, providing a variety of rest areas for local residents and maximizing the sense of openness of the building at the same time. Considering the future expansion, various outdoor rest areas will be used as valuable shelter for employees, and Busan district public prosecutor's office will remain as a favorable legal building representing SouthWest Busan area.
