- Introduction

The basic and detailed design services for Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 has been successfully completed by Heerim as the lead architect with the Heerim-Mooyoung-Gensler-Yungdo (HMGY) consortium on last 31st August. The project had been formerly initiated by Incheon International Airport Corporation to handle the increasing aviation demand and strengthen its competitiveness as the best hub airport in Northeast Asia.
Upon the award of the contract and the commencement of services in last 2012, HMGY Consortium had dispatched a team of about 100 designers to the project office in Yeongjong-do working under the tight schedule of Fast-Track method for the success completion of this project for 3 years. Their efforts were highly appreciated by the client.
The contractors for interior and supplementary installation work, as well as the production and installation of signage and FF&E were selected in May and August respectively. After that, the work scope of Heerim’s construction supervision service has been extended to all work packages.
So far, for the construction work, the steel structures of the 4 floors above ground as well as the steel truss of roof are being assembled while the stone of the lower exterior wall above ground and the BHS structure are under installation. The construction process is under management as planned. Led by Ryoo Byeonghwa (Executive Vice President, Head of CM team for Terminal 2), Heerim’s CM team is carrying out its overall supervision service for the zero defect/accident construction and the timely completion of this project with passion and sense of mission.
