- Introduction
- The Incheon International Airport construction project has been successfully completed in three phases, aiming to meet the increasing demand for air travel domestically and internationally and secure competitiveness as a hub airport in Northeast Asia. Heerim has been performed in various phases of the project including architectural design and construction supervision services for the Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 (Phase 1) and continued with construction supervision services for Concourse A (Phase 2) as well as design development and construction documentation along with responsible supervision services for Terminal 2 (Phase 3). Notably, Terminal 2, which opened in January 2018, has received widespread acclaim for introducing a new paradigm in airport architecture. The overall design of Terminal 2 is inspired by the legendary creature "Phoenix" with its exterior resembling the wings of the Phoenix embracing the structure from both sides. Furthermore, the check-in area took inspiration from the Phoenix's feathers, creating a captivating ambiance for travelers. Heerim aimed to appropriately express the vision of Incheon International Airport, soaring as a Northeast Asian hub, based on the concept of Phoenix. Moreover, Heerim leveraged its extensive experience and expertise from numerous airport projects to design Incheon International Airport as one of the world's best airports. Furthermore, Heerim’ supervision team has has successfully completed tasks with a sense of mission and enthusiasm aiming at zero-defect construction, zero-accident and timely completion.
