Gwangju Museum of Art

Design
Introduction
A comprehensive plan has been suggested for the Gwangju Museum of Art, a 7,632㎡ art museum, considering the renovation of the interior and the exterior of its education center, located north of the museum. The new building has been intended to function as an art museum, and the existing education center was intended to be separated for educational functions such as a children’s art museum as well as for curatorship research, while still being connected to the existing education center. Heerim intended to form a cultural belt for Joongwoe Park, which takes a linear form connecting the literary center in the south and the museum in the north, considering ‘location’ from a macro perspective during the planning stage.
