Design
Introduction
The site of Incheon 2014 Asian Games Hockey & Bowling Stadium is located nearby the slope on the North and hill on the West road and flatland with waterway flow in the center. The design proposal aims to find state of the nature before its appearance as farmland by articulating the flow of mountain on Northwest as a linear site plan consecutively continuing with the site. Environment-friendly aspects were maximized by minimizing cut and fill amount suitable with the topography and locating main buildings along the stream of Seunggi and waterways. The stadium has completed efficient circulation and site plan by considering characteristics of different users and facilities consisting of diverse sports facilities, land with building extension possibilities and exterior spaces with various themes. Also, the Hockey stadium was placed close to the main access routes and has a plenty of waiting space as it is closely connected to Central square with maximum number of seats. The stadium for disable people is located very closely to the main access for the convenience of disable people. Furthermore, a multi-purpose stadium is located nearby the community sports center on the South to be connected together as it will be used as Yeonsu Community Sports Center in the future.
