- Introduction
- Zanzibar government (Ministry of Trade and Industrial Development Zanzibar) has led this project to diversify Zanzibar's traditional industrial structure and facilitate domestic and international trade by creating an International Trade Fair and Convention Center complex. MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) facilities sees "Bleisure", which combines business and leisure activities, as a core value of success. Zanzibar is renowned tourist destination for its well-equipped infrastructure including its geographical location, beautiful nature, cultural and historical resources. However, while the potential for MICE activities remains high, there is a significant shortage of world-class MICE facilities for both foreign investors and domestic traders. Designed to meet this demand, the complex is located on a 60-hectare grassland in the Fumba Free Economic Zone in the southwest of Zanzibar Island, drawing inspiration from Zanzibar's history, culture and people. This project is planned as a comprehensive MICE & Leisure complex with tourism, leisure, global business, luxury residences, medical tourism, and living infrastructure all in one place, centered on a global MICE facility. In addition, pedestrian and communities are connected through a large central park with beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. Also, advanced ICT enables futuristic living such as remote conferences, remote classes, and remote medical care, while personal unmanned mobility vehicles enables fast and convenient living. "The Jewel City of Zanzibar", where healing and leisure exists, was once known as the Jewel of the Indian Ocean and the Spice Island. But now, it will revive the glory of Zanzibar and further serve as a cornerstone for its development of the trade and business hub in the Middle East African region.
