Design Proposal by Heerim & UNStudio won the final prize from the resident's vote organized by Promotion committee office of Eunma Apartment Redevelopment at September 2016. Eunma Apartment Reconstruction Project, with a record-breaking architectural design budget of 15.7 billion KRW, stands as a monumental venture in the realm of reconstruction projects. Right from its inception, this large-scale undertaking has captured significant attention in the Gangnam real estate market, drawing interest due to its financial viability and symbolic significance. To create residences blessed with abundant sunlight and excellent ventilation, all units for the reconstruction association members were strategically oriented to face south, ensuring natural cross-ventilation. The centerpiece of the project is a 50-story main building (currently in the planning stage with 35 floors) designed to depict the ascension of six dragons, creating a symbolic representation of their rise. This architectural concept not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also establishes the development as a landmark in the area, embodying a distinctive and memorable image for the entire complex. Furthermore, the project has established a 50-meter wide green axis running from north to south at the center of the apartment complex, ensuring an exceptional residential environment. Simultaneously, the external spaces have been transformed into a 30,000 pyeong eco-friendly themed park spanning 7 blocks, creating a green oasis for residents. With 12,400 pyeong of diversified amenity facilities, the development offers a one-stop lifestyle experience. Additionally, by efficiently organizing retail spaces along the main road, plans have been made to add 129 housing units within the complex. This strategic placement not only maximizes space utilization but also secures additional revenue, totaling approximately 180 billion KRW in sales income. By considering both feasibility and the enhancement of the overall living experience, this project is introducing a new paradigm in Gangnam's redevelopment landscape.
