Incheon International Airport Phase 4 Terminal 2 Expansion Project

Introduction: Incheon International Airport has been grasping extraordinary attention from leading international airlines and aviation organizations since its opening in 2001 and hold a record of being ranked the Best Airport Worldwide for 12 consecutive years by the Airports Council International (ACI)’ Airport Service Quality Award. Heerim aimed to enhance both functionality as well as aesthetics aspect while performing 2nd passenger terminal expansion project in order to actively respond to the increase in domestic and international aviation demand and to secure competitiveness as a hub airport in Northeast Asia. In the meantime, Heerim has designed and supervised the first passenger terminal at Incheon International Airport (Phase 1), followed by supervision service for Boarding Gate A (Phase 2) and basic design, construction documentation and supervision services for the Passenger Terminal 2 (Phase 3). Especially, the Passenger Terminal 2 Expansion (Phase 4) is a fast-track project where Heerim proceeds both design and construction management scope such as excavation and pile work package simultaneously with the goal to be completed in October 2024. Upon the completion, Incheon International Airport will accommodate 52 million passengers annually and become a space of excitement that not only offers optimized functions as a hub airport but also provides pleasures to travelers.
