- Introduction
- The (former) KT ShinSa Branch office conducted a design competition for the development of a leisure facility within the city center and the enhancement of commercial functions around the Apgujeong Station area, considering its excellent location adjacent to Apgujeong Station and the increasing domestic leisure demand. During the design competition, Heerim combined the unique history associated with Apgujeong's name and the upscale community culture of the top 1% in the Gangnam area, creating the concept of "樓 (LU)," which aims to elevate the hotel's image and symbolism as a desirable destination and landmark that people want to visit, offering a view from above. Additionally, to respond to the revitalization of Apgujeong Station and its surroundings, the design considered diversified circulation paths and provided pleasant facilities for users, such as incorporating existing subway stairs and elevators within the building, while also planning an underground shopping area to enhance accessibility. "ANdAZ" is a premium hotel brand under the "Hyatt" umbrella, and the name originates from the Hindi word meaning "personal style." The brand is focused on providing a unique and distinct experience to guests who seek hotels that creatively reinterpret local culture. ANdAZ hotels aim to offer a lifestyle experience by reimagining and embracing the local culture, giving customers a fresh and different perspective. Furthermore, with room interiors reinterpreted with a modern sensibility while retaining a Korean touch by Netherlands' "Piet Boon," ANdAZ is expected to attract a young, distinct clientele due to its high-quality service and strong personality.
