Korea Multi-Purpose Accelerator Complex (KOMAC) R&D Center is located at 245, Hwacheon-ri, Gocheon-eup, Gyeongju-gu, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The purpose of establishment is for efficient management and operation of KOMAC R&D Center. The design concept is to highlight the image of High Tech through the creative interpretation of the architectural place and the local environment from the viewpoint of history and culture, where symbolism and the aesthetic beauty were designed as the architecture.
The design was carried out from January 2007 to September 2008 for 12 months, and there were design changes for two times in 2012 and 2015, following the construction completion in February 2018.
