- Introduction
- "Teheranro" is the name of the 8-to-10-lane street between Gangnam Station to Samsung Station along Seoul Subway Line 2, which is about 4km long. Teheranro was originally called Samneungro as the street passed through Samneung Park (Seonjeongneung), but on June 17, 1977, the name of the street has been changed to "Teheranro" to celebrate the establishment of sisterhood relationship between Seoul and Tehran. The building has kept the space as a small five-story neighborhood building despite its advantage of being adjacent to Seonneung Station Exit 4 in one of the central economic district. However, the renovation project was conducted due to the aging of the building and the Poor profitability against land costs. The initial plan was to renew the building as a top-class five-star hotel with business facilities to maximize profits, but the hotel was decided to be canceled to secure flexibility. In addition to the main lobby accessible from the main street (Teheranro), a sub entrance from the back was installed by optimizing the level difference to improve user convenience. The core is located at the center of the square-shaped plan to provide sunlight and view from all directions; bold vertical elements were repeated for the facade design to the regulated maximum height to express the confidence that the Teheranro area will unvaryingly lead the economic development of Korea in the future. After completion, the building is expected to fully serve as a premium landmark office and resolve premium demands in the emerging office leasing market.
