Design
- Introduction
- The Songdo Convencia Phase 2 was promoted as a BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease) project that introduced private capital and technology to infrastructural development. Exhibition, multipurpose conference halls and convenience facilities were expanded in the existing Phase 1 site which is currently in a saturated operation rate. A multipurpose plaza was constructed outside, which can be used as an outdoor exhibition space. The Phase 2 of the project has a unique exterior and connected with Songdo Convencia Phase 1, which is a landmark of Songdo International City. Phase 2 building is designed to maintain the same exterior in connection with the Phase 1 facade design. In addition, the exhibition space is expanded to accommodate 900 booths or more and has strengthened its competitiveness in attracting large-scale exhibitions. Existing facilities were improved to host various exhibitions and events such as banner and heavy equipment exhibitions. Large and small to medium sized conference rooms that accommodate more than 2000 people were completed as Convention Center that can attract international conferences in conjunction with existing facilities. In addition to the surrounding accommodation facilities, retails and global corporations residing in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, Songdo Convencia is planned to have international competitiveness and to lead the growth of the local MICE industry.
