Seed Cube Changdong stands as a flagship project in the urban revitalization and development of the Changdong-Sanggye area, aiming to transform it into a pivotal economic hub for job opportunities and cultural activities within the northeastern metropolitan area. The project entails establishing an industrial base to create employment, enhancing cultural and artistic foundations, expanding residential and recreational services, and constructing regional infrastructure to support extensive performance facilities and employment opportunities. In an effort to revitalize the local economy, Heerim, in consortium with DL E&C, has introduced five key concepts, summarized by the acronym "START" (Signature, Together, Art & Culture, Renewal, Technology). These concepts focus on the following: The first goal is to establish a landmark for balanced development in the northeastern region. The second objective is to design spaces capable of generating new value through collaboration and shared efforts. The third aim is to develop a platform for culture and art in alignment with urban revitalization plans. The fourth target involves enhancing facilities for user convenience and activation. Lastly, the fifth objective is to ensure sustainable growth, bolstering the local economy through functional enhancements and quality assurance. Heerim has bolstered its proposal for the international design competition by introducing the concept of "Sky Co-Work," aiming to symbolize the adjacent area. Additionally, Heerim has developed "BizLife Center" and "Smart Hub" as coworking spaces catering to sole proprietors and office users. These spaces encompass common areas for offices and studios, a "Pop-up Lounge" for commercial and retail purposes, and a "Step Garden" as external amenities. Seed Cube Changdong will serve as the starting point for urban regeneration and regional development by establishing industrial, economic, cultural, and artistic foundations in the northeastern part of the capital region. It will transform into a new hub for culture and the economy, creating 3.2 million jobs, and will be a core project for realizing the vision of revitalizing urban areas and activating regional development.
