- Introduction
- Baekbong Doosan Alfheim is a redevelopment project to regenerate the Seoul Resort site, which was a comprehensive leisure complex that was operated from 1993 to 2007. Neglected buildings and ski slopes were restored and turned into medical facilities, schools, and sustainable residential complexes. Under the theme of "Hygge Life in Design – Active Design Guidelines", the design emphasized creating a Nordic residential complex including the unit plan that accommodates every type of lifestyle, a zoning plan for a one-stop life for residents, a landscape design that adapts the nature, and a slope design that secures both pedestrian safety and convenience. Locating in Baekbongsan Mountain, the Alfheim complex aims to be "a house in the forest’ rather than ‘a forest in the complex", where all residents can enjoy healthy and happy lives. The complex itself is a small city in nature that contains a total of 49 buildings and 2,894 residential units that equipped with all necessary support facilities including transportation, education, shopping, and culture, that can accommodate various lifestyles with terraces, tower-type buildings, and diversified unit plans from 80sqm to 152sqm. The Nordic-themed outdoor programs such as camping grounds, water space patios, and gardens will also improve the life quality of the residents, and the 330m long Nordic-style street mall which connects the entrance and exit of the complex will be Namyangju's representative attractions.
