- Introduction

Gwangju institute of Science and Technology (GIST) has added various undergraduate programs and has undertaken renewable energy research projects, with the aim of supporting Korea’s technological innovations. As the Student Union building was the most vital facility in the university, it has been placed in the center of the site with easy access to other buildings; and the image of "Flying wings representing growth" was embodied on its facade. To be the best environmental friendly green campus, natural energy & water management, Smart Green building facade system and low carbon green transportation system were introduced.
