Design
- Introduction
- Heerim, with the best hospital design experiences and know-how, won the 2010 International Design Competition for 108 Military Central Hospital design organized by the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam. 108 Military Central Hospital is located in the Hanoi City of Vietnam, overlooking the Red River. It is a national hospital with a total capacity of 2,000 beds, where Vietnamese soldiers can be treated as well as civilians. It is also called the best hospital in Vietnam not only by its size and facility, but also in terms of medical services. The exterior design of the building reflects the local and cultural identity naturally in the streamlined shape of the traditional ship flowing through the rivers and lakes of Vietnam. The building layout was arranged that the building block of Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Surgery are symmetrically located at the front, where the Central Outpatient Clinic is located at the back in order to organically link each hospital's function. The upper part of Hospital Street was planned as an atrium with natural lighting to improve the comfort and an indoor garden was set up for a sufficient resting space of the patients.
