Samsung Hanoi R&D Campus

DCM
Introduction
The Samsung Hanoi R&D Campus project aims to establish state-of-the-art research facilities in Hanoi, Vietnam, dedicated to the development of software and hardware in Samsung Electronics' mobile and network divisions. The campus, designed to accommodate 3,000 researchers, stands as the largest R&D facility in Southeast Asia, strategically planned for future demand. Situated in the Hanoi THT New City Zone, the campus has been architecturally designed, considering dynamic images such as vertical and diagonal lines, taking into account the image of ICT companies and views from the northwest city beltway. Energy-saving and maintenance efficiency are taken into account, with a planned window opening ratio of less than 40% to account for Hanoi's intense sunlight. The lobby is intelligently divided into a public lobby on the 1st floor and a security lobby on the 2nd floor, effectively separating the access routes for employees and visitors. The research labs are designed using a modular plan, while additional welfare facilities like rooftop gardens, fitness centers, and restaurants contribute to creating a user-friendly research environment. The Samsung Hanoi R&D Campus, implemented as a Design + Construction Management (DCM) project, commenced construction in March 2020 and was completed in December 2022. The inauguration ceremony took place on December 23, 2022, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Vietnam.
