BATA International Airport New Passenger Terminal

Design
Introduction
Heerim, which has been recognized for its design and design ability since the completion of Equatorial Guinea Mongomeyen International Airport, signed a basic and construction documentation contract with Ssangyong E&C for the construction of passenger terminal at Bata International Airport. The client of the project is the government of Equatorial Guinea and the main contractor is Ssangyong E&C, which won the project with Design-build delivery and the main architect is Heerim. Bata is currently the largest city on the Equatorial Guinea mainland and is located on the western coast. As the city grew due to the 2015 launch of the Africa Cup of Nations, passenger demand has increased and the Bata airport passenger terminal has now become saturated. The new passenger terminal proposed by Heerim has been designed under the design motif of the hexagonal star in the emblem, which is the symbol of Equatorial Guinea. Such concept is applied in the designs of pillars, structure, interior and the terminal is planned with convenient circulation system, fast passenger handling system and optimized space. The project aims to be completed by 2023, capable of accommodating 2 million passengers per year with total G.F.A of 30,500㎡ and 3F/B1F.
