The design site was Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Denmark where the existing shipyard workers have been replaced with mixture of other industrial entrepreneurs after remodeling, and the design site was a shipyard without building. Refshaleøen shipyard had rich historical contexts however, its soil was extremely contaminated as the site was used for manufacturing factories for long time. The site has abundant of airflow and wind power generators were being operated at periphery area already since it was placed adjacent to coastal area. Motivated by these environmental features, our design team has applied two design concepts; "Movement" and "Healing".

The first concept, Movement was selected to incarnate the dynamic movement through kinetic wind art, and energetic motions of Copenhagen with many festivals. OPV panel in the shape of Flexible ribbon and piezoelectric energy production technology of waving poles were applied. The upper part of the ribbon produces solar energy with OPV panel, and OLED Panel was embedded on the other side to enable various activities such as performances, festivals to be done through light art at evening by using recharged energy during daytime.

Piezoelectric poles of 25m high are fastening the panels and producing electric energy by being bent and unbent by the wind, and the media board at lower part of the pole shows the amount of generated electric energy and information so that visitors can recognize them. The second concept is Healing, set for the purification of contaminated earth and create a space where provides healing atmosphere to citizens of Copenhagen. To purify the soil, Electrikinetic Remediation technology was installed at the lower part of the piezoelectric pole to extract and remove the contaminants. According to its installation, piezoelectric poles were arranged upon research about the soil pollution degree, and healing spaces were aimed to be formed that gives relaxation and cultured life by spaces with various shapes through the arrangement of poles.

This is a design case in which the value of the artwork, which has the implication of urban regeneration utilizing the old shipyard site, and eco-friendly value such as energy production and soil pollution purification coexist. Generated energy charges the battery at the lower part of the pole and the amount of the energy will be about 4,231MWh per year. It is the amount of energy that can be consumed by 1,237 households for a year in Copenhagen(annual consumption of electric energy of one Danish household: 3,420Wh/yr*), and this energy will be provided to public institutions & facilities or houses in vicinity.
