Introduction
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is an external grant aid organization for poverty reduction and economic, social development in developing countries. Heerim received contracts for construction management (CM) for KOICA Cambodia in Myanma from March last year. This project aims to strengthen the level of professional healthcare for infants and children in accordance with the National Development Plan of the Cambodian health sector and enhance the medical service of socially disadvantaged class. KOICA has invested USD 4.68 million from a total project cost of USD 5 million, where the scope of the construction project includes one floor level expansion (1,005㎡) and renovation service of interior/exterior spaces in the existing hospital building. Construction work started in December 2015 and was completed in June 2017. Currently, training of hospital management and health policy establishment is underway by the PMC (Soon Chun Hyang University Medical Center). KOICA supports the establishment of five hospitals across the regions in Cambodia, including current project, which is very meaningful as it provides active support to the health field. It is expected to contribute greatly to finding alternatives for improving maternal and child healthcare.
